ASID Logo Design Competition for WA Artists Who Have an Intellectual Disability
The Australasian Society for Intellectual Disability (ASID) in partnership with As We Are invites Western Australian artists of all ages who have an intellectual disability to design a logo for the 2014 ASID Conference in Fremantle!
Conditions of Entry
The design for the logo must focus on the theme “All Aboard.” The All Aboard theme aims to reflect the inclusive and forward-moving nature of ASID as well as the nautical location and history of Fremantle—think sailing boats, seafaring, the ocean etc. Interested artists are invited to submit up to two entries, either as an individual or team.
The winning image will be used to design the logo for the 2014 ASID Conference and will be used for conference promotional material.
Logo designs only need to comprise an image (i.e. no text), be two-dimensional and A4 size or smaller. Entries will be judged according to the following criteria:
- “All Aboard” theme
- Artistic creativity
- Simplicity
- Scalability (i.e. the image is able to reproduced at both small and large scales), and
- Reproducibility (i.e. the image is able to be reproduced easily on a variety of promotional materials, for example, conference bag, letterhead, website etc.)
The winning design will be selected by an independent panel comprising disability and art representatives from ASID, Mosaic Community Care, Nulsen Association and As We Are, and the winner will receive a $500 cash prize! The winner will be notified by phone. Please note the winning entry will become the intellectual property of the Australasian Society for Intellectual Disability, and may be modified for the design of the logo.
The 2014 ASID Conference logo will be launched later this year at the 2013 ASID Conference in Sydney, and entries will be displayed in November next year at the 2014 ASID Conference in Fremantle.
